Think Tyson Fury’s views are offensive? Boxing is worse | Julie Bindel

This is not a sport but a sadistic spectacle performed by men raised on a diet of rage and survival instinct. So why all the shock at the champion’s opinions?

Have you noticed the sly little trick in this rhetorical masterpiece from Julie Bindel?

Here’s a clue.

Yes, the brilliant Nichola Adams. Brilliant, black, bisexual and a woman who boxes with a huge amount of flair, skill and determination.

Even by Bindel’s standards, to be able to write an article about boxing and not mention a brilliant black bisexual woman who is a serious figure in her sport is nothing short of disgraceful. Can anyone, ever take Bindel seriously again?

Wow. I don’t think I’ve read anything that bad since Chris Huhne left. The author has not heard of Nicola Adams. But she is middle class and did live near some Travellers once. Clearly this is sufficient to be an authority on boxing.

As always, the comments section makes me wish the Guardian’s readers would simply stop buying the paper en masse and start writing their own paper.

Yeah, apparently the guardian readership is declining, but they have no idea why!

As much as she disgusts me, she is entitled to her opinion. She’s not entitled to misandry however. The only reason she doesn’t approve of boxing is probably because she associates it with men, no surprise there then.

If the guardian becomes cheap enough I may consider using it as toilet paper so I can wipe away my filth with theirs.
